Black Locust Livestock was started by Mike and Rebecca Webert in 2010 to provide livestock marketing and graphic design services. Rebecca, who had just left a position with the Virginia Angus Association, and Mike, who managed Locust Hill Farm, LLC, his family operation until his grandmother’s passing, knew that there was a demand for local, reasonably priced livestock marketing and graphic design work.
With our combined experience and knowledge in both the livestock and marketing industries, we decided to start Black Locust Livestock and focus on offering individualized services for livestock producers. Over the years we have been incredibly fortunate to work with many different outstanding livestock producers and operations on a variety of products, and we look forward to continuing to do so well into the future!
Our passions have always included a desire to have our own herd of cattle as well, and with the addition of two little farm hands, we finally decided to make that a reality in 2017. We have begun to build a small herd of quality purebred females from several breeds: Hereford, Angus and Simmental (and one Shorthorn because of one of said little farm hands). We have focused, and will continue to focus, on quality females with strong maternal performance and eye appeal, and look forward to growing this aspect of our business!
Our passions are good cattle, agriculture, advocating for our industry and helping other producers to be successful in marketing, growing and succeeding in their business.
